Obituary

Charlie Clifton Brown, 71, of Metter, Georgia, Passed away on October 13th, 2026. Born in Statesboro, Ga and raised in Metter.

Charlie Brown was a one-of-a-kind man who lived life in his own way and never left anyone guessing how he felt. He was stubborn, strong-willed, and unapologetically himself. If Charlie had something on his mind, you were going to know it. He never made you second-guess where you stood with him, because he made his feelings known. While that stubbornness may have given his family a few stories to tell over the years, it was also a part of what made him the man they knew and loved. Charlie was simply Charlie, and there will never be another quite like him.

Charlie found joy in the simple things in life, especially working on random things. Whether he was out drag racing or keeping himself busy fixing, tinkering with, or figuring something out, he was happiest doing things his own way. He had his own way of looking at the world, his own way of doing things, and a personality that could never be mistaken for anyone else’s. Those little things that made him who he was are the very things his family will find themselves remembering and missing the most.

Above all, Charlie leaves behind a family who will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts. Losing someone you love is never easy, and saying goodbye to a grandfather, father, and family member leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully explain. There will be moments when his family wishes they could hear his voice one more time, share one more conversation, or simply spend another ordinary day with him. It is often those everyday moments that become the most precious after someone is gone.

Though his family must now learn to navigate life without him physically here, the memories he created and the mark he left on their lives will never disappear. He will live on in the stories shared around family gatherings, in the lessons learned from knowing him, and in the memories that bring both smiles and tears. His stubborn spirit, unmistakable personality, and the moments that made him uniquely Charlie will never be forgotten.

Charlie is survived by his four children: his son, Charlie Brown; and his daughters, Ashleigh (Brown) Pinckard, Whitney Brown, and Laci (Brown) Redding.

Also, his dog Pretzel.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Lexi Tanner, Braydyn Caddell, Kavery Purvis, Madelyn Redding, Ross Redding, Alex Redding, and Layton Pinckard, who will forever cherish the memories and the place he holds in their lives.

While the pain of losing Charlie is great, so is the love that remains. His life was a part of his family’s story, and that is something death can never take away. He will be remembered for exactly who he was: a stubborn, strong-willed man who spoke his mind, loved the things that made him happy, and left behind memories that will last a lifetime.

Charlie may be gone from our sight, but he will never be gone from our hearts. There is no replacing a man like him, and there is no forgetting the impact he made on the people who loved him.

Rest peacefully, Papa Charlie. We will miss your voice, your ways, your stubbornness, and all the little things that made you who you were. If there is one thing you never left us wondering, it is how you felt. And if there is one thing we hope you never had to wonder, it is how much you were loved.

You will forever be missed, forever loved, and forever a part of us.
