Sister Earlene Brown Smith, 82, of Metter, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on June 30, 2026; surrounded by her loving family, after an extended illness. She was born in Statesboro, GA., on December12, 1943, to Mr George and Lillie Mae Conley Brown. Earlene was a beautiful and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was happiest when she was with her family and serving and praising the Lord. She was a faithful servant for Christ. Her prayers covered generations of family and friends, her trust in God never wavered, through life's joys and hardships. She believed no burden was to great for God to carry. She would always remind everyone to keep the faith, pray without ceasing and trust Gods perfect timing.

Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Redic Franklin Smith, two sons Daniel Sanders, and Dennis Crow. Also preceding her were brothers Buford Brown, James Brown, five sisters, Evelyn Smith, Mildred Brown, Dorthy Funderburke, Lillian Slaper and Caroldene Mathis.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Sandra C. and Kenny Ball of Kentucky, Linda C. and Johnny Carter of Metter, Barbara C. and Calvin Jones, and Heather Crow, her beloved baby daughter and caregiver. Cherished is her bonus daughter/granddaughter Tiffany Carter. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and two fur babies, that watched over her day and night, Little Monster and Rocko.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening July 2, 2026, from 6-8pm at the Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted Friday, July 3, 2026 at 11 am, in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home.
