Mr. Gerald R. Woods 85 passed away peacefully, Sunday morning March 31, 2024, at his home, in Portal. Gerald was born on July 12, 1938, to Mr. Loyce Thomas and Helen Gertrude Woods, in Brantley County, Ga. Gerald was veteran of The US Army, he retired from Hobart after 20 years of service. The family relocated back to South Georgia 47 years ago, living 27 years in Richmond Hill Ga. and the last 20 years in Portal GA. Geralds love for his God, his family, and his country were evident in all of his life.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, of almost 60 years, Mary Etta Woods, a son Richard (Teresa) Woods, of Metro Atlanta, a daughter, Melisa (Wayne) Dugger, of Nashville Tennessee, two grandsons, Sean Samuel Woods and Spencer Woods. Also surviving are two brothers, Earl Thomas Woods, Herman Dennis Woods and one sister Elizabeth McDonald.

The Graveside Funeral service will be held on Thursday March 4, 2024, at Bethel Cemetery, 1331 Little Neck Road, Savannah Ga.
