John Robert Johnson, 81, lifelong resident of Metter, slipped away peacefully to the arms of Jesus at home surrounded by his loving family on October 17, 2024.

Born January 25, 1943, to the late John Osbert and Francis Parker Johnson, Robert was educated in the Candler County school system and was a retired trucker driver.

Robert loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild and his faithful pup, Molly, driving a truck, watching 'wrastlin' and 'Gunsmoke' and ice cream. He was active in his church and had a heart that only a man of God could carry.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Annette Miller and grandson, Joel Spencer.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patsy, his children Donna Faircloth (James), Kathy Johnson, Karen Oliver (Moose), Kelly Delapenia (Tiny), David Hall (Patty), Melanie Hart (Roland), Scott Hebden (Tabitha), 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brother, Alton Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation, Saturday October 19th, 10:00 am at Living Waters Church of God in Metter with a celebration of life following at 11:00.
