Obituary

Mrs. Louise Ann Ryckewaert 85, of Metter, GA. passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, at home; with her loving family at her bedside, under the care of Georgia Hospice care. Louise was born on August 12, 1940 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, and lived the majority of her life in Detroit, Michigan, before she and her husband Donald "Don" Ryckewaert retired to Metter, Georgia.

Louise was affectionately known as "Peach" by her family and some close friends. She was a great animal lover and advocate. She was especially fond of cats and had many throughout her life.

Louise was the daughter of Laritha and Chester Lumpkin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald Ryckewaert. She is survived by her sister, Susan Jeffcoat of Bloomingdale, Georgia, nephew Matthew Jeffcoat (Janet) of Savannah, Georgia, niece Amber Stafford (Daniel) of Guyton, Georgia, great-nieces Kaylee and Mady Jeffcoat of Savannah, Georgia, and great-nephews Jordan and Jacob Stafford of Guyton, Georgia, as well as relatives in Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her best friend Sherry Wetteland of Metter, Georgia and her "son and daughter in love" Thomas and Andrea Barringer of Metter, Georgia. Thomas and his wife were her primary caretakers and took care of all her needs for many years. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Metter, Georgia.

A Celebration of Life, honoring Mrs. Louise Ryckewaert will be conducted, by the family, at The Metter First Baptist Church, the date will be announced later.
