In Loving Memory of Raymond Dennis JohnsonDecember 19, 1958 to September 22, 2026Raymond Dennis Johnson, known to those who loved him as Dennis, lived a life that was far from perfect. His life held mistakes, heartache, struggles, and seasons that could have broken most people. He made mistakes. He hurt, and he was hurt. There were things he probably wished he could change and things he wished he could have said differently.

 But that was not the end of his story. 

Along the way, Dennis found Jesus.

 He loved the Lord and Savior and loved being in the presence of the Holy Spirit. His faith was not perfect because Dennis was not a perfect man, but his faith was real. He knew where he had been, he knew his faults, and he knew what it meant to be forgiven.

 Dennis often spoke of times when Jesus took him to Heaven, only to send him back because it was not his time.

 On September 22, 2026, his time finally came. 

This time, Jesus said, “Welcome home.

 Dennis leaves behind the love of his life, Tracy. Their story began when they were young. Life took them down different paths, but eventually they found their way back to each other. For 44 years, Tracy was his wife, companion, and best friend. Together they owned and operated D & T Home Improvement until Dennis’s health began to fail. 

He leaves behind his sons, Denny (Kayley) Johnson of Metter and Juston (Luke) Johnson of Statesboro, and his brother, Richard Johnson of Augusta.

 Dennis loved his boys deeply. Their relationship was not always easy. Life, mistakes, circumstances, and things left unsaid sometimes got in the way. There were things Dennis probably would have done differently. But underneath it all was a father who loved his sons and wanted the best for them.

 He also leaves behind his grandson, Dawson, and his great nieces, Riley and Bailey, who lovingly called him Papa. The memories and love they shared will remain forever.

 Dennis was not perfect. He was complicated. He made mistakes. He carried wounds. But he found grace.

 And now, after all the pain, sickness, and struggles of this life, he does not have to fight anymore. No more pain. No more sickness. No more struggle. His earthly journey is finished, but his eternal one has just begun. So, rest now, Dennis. You fought long enough. You hurt long enough. You carried enough. You made it home. Until we meet again.
