Ronald Edward Hicks, 82, of Pulaski passed away April 22, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. He was born September 29, 1940, in Bakersville, CA to the late Melvin L. and Orel Sue Allen Hicks.

Ronald graduated from Bakersville High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force at the young age of 17. He proudly served for 22 years and went on to serve another 16 years with the First Ranger Battalion. He was an avid football and baseball fan supporting his teams, the Denver Broncos and the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Harry Joe and Mamie Lou Dixon, as well as his sister-in-law, Anne Dixon.

Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Dixon; his sister, Karen (Wayne) Swindall; his sister-in-law, Brenda (Reid) Dunn; his daughters, Carrin (Blaine) Holsonbake and Candace (Mike) McWhorter; his sons, David (Kathy) Hicks and Blake (Debra) Hicks; grandchildren, Devonn (Carla) Holsonbake, Emilee (Gary) Pollock, Quinn Holsonbake, Garrett Holsonbake, Heather White, Staci (Robert) Lee, Devon (Johnathan) Mason, Thomas Hicks, Smith Hicks, Jordan Coleman, and Paige (Benjamin) Parker. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at the Pulaski Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Lake Cemetery. Officiants for the service will be Rev. Blake Hicks and Rev. Bo Fulginiti.

Pallbearers will be Shane Emmett, Spencer Lanier, David Tucker, Howard Tucker, Kevin Tucker and Toby Tucker.
