Mrs. Ruth Geraldine McCarty Rountree, 85, of Metter died on Feb. 17,2021 at East Georgia regional Medical Center in Statesboro.  She was an L.P. N. and retired from the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband Julian Rountree, her parents, Silas and Fannie Dixon McCarty, daughter Johnnie Darlene Evers Cook and a son John Douglas Evers. She is survived by daughters, Wilma ( Bob) Hutchins of Metter, Marie ( Lynn) Cribbs of Collins and Jo Lloyd of VA. A brother Vernon McCarty of TN. Sister Gertrud McDonald of Cummins, GA. Numerous grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 1, 2021 at 1pm in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of the service.
