Steven Ray Wheeler Jr. died Sunday June 12, 2022, in his home located in Metter, GA surrounded by family after a rough battle with thoracic cancer. He was born in Danville, VA to parents Steve and Vicky Wheeler in 1987. Upon completing high school, he enlisted in the ARMY. After completing boot camp, he tried his hand at farming until he found his forever career- plumbing. He loved working at Middleton Plumbing for the past 10+ years. He was a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan. His hobbies were watching football, fishing, throwing darts, playing pool, and hunting. He loved spending time with friends and family. Steven was always smiling and loved goofing around with anyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and could make a friend out of anyone. He is preceded in death by his mother, Vicky Wheeler. Steven is survived by 3 beautiful children, Rainey, Landon, and DJ. He is also survived by his father Steve Wheeler of Metter, his siblings Amanda Mushro (Jared) of Douglasville, GA., and Brad Monkiewicz (Claudia) of McAllen, TX. Along with his family he is survived by the mother of his children, Aleshia Shields, and many friends. Visitation will be held on June 15, 2022, from 6-8pm at Wood Funeral Home in Metter GA. The memorial service will follow the next morning, June 16, 2022, at 11am, also at Wood Funeral Home. He will be buried with family at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Statesboro, GA.
