Alonzo "Jurue" Owens

Mr. Alonzo Jurue Owens, 90, of Metter passed away at Augusta Universty Medical Center, Sunday afternoon April 16, 2023. Jurue was born July 21, 1932 to Mr. Joseph Allen and Bessie Agerton Owens in Metter. He was a veteran of The United States Army and was a truck driver.

Jurue was preceded in death by his parents and wife Robbie Mikell Owens. He is survived by two sons, Leslie Jurue Owens, Joseph Owens and two daughters Angel Durrence and Robin Parkerson. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends begining at 2 p.m until the service hour at the funeral home. Rev. Joey Holloway will be officiating.
