Annie Ruth Conner Obituary
Annie Ruth Mongin Conner, 77, of Metter died Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 2020 at East Georgia Medical Center in Statesboro. Born in Candler county, she was the daughter of Reverend William Denver Mongin and Reverend Cora Lee Douglas Mongin. Ruth was a member of Holy Church of God and well known in the community for her amazing sewing talent including making pageant dresses, wedding dresses, clothing, and alterations. She graduated from Metter High School and continued on to business college in Savannah. She loved being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She shared a special bond with each one and never missed an important event. Most of all, Ruth loved The Lord. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Conner, and a brother, Tommy Eugene Mongin. Surviving, are her sons, Ricky (Jody) Conner, Bubba (Angie) Conner, and a daughter, Jeaneene Conner Crosby, sisters, Patricia Sutton, Linda (Doyle) Thomas, Brenda Kern, and one brother, Larry (Mildred) Mongin. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Brandon Conner, Matt (Savanna) Conner, Megan (Larry) Melton, Allen Kea, Aiden Conner, Raelyn Crosby, and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 at Wood’s Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at 2:00 officiated by Reverend Linda Johnson. Interment will be in Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church cemetery. The family kindly requests that guests adhere to social distancing guidelines.
