Bettie Jane Hutchins

Mrs. Bettie Jane Hutchins, 74, of Metter died on Friday Oct. 18, 2019 at Candler County Hospital. She attended El Bethel Baptist Church in Twin City. She was a retired factory worker and worked as a C.N. A. . Her favorite color was purple, she loved flowers and gardening . She was very strong willed and a determined person.. She loved talking to people and attended Concerted Services  for fifteen years. She was precede in death by her parents, John Allen and Irene Altman Merritt. A daughter Shelly Root. A brother. Hubert Merritt and sisters, Martha Merritt, Cora Bell Merritt, Margaret Merritt, Annie Mae Merritt and Irene Virginia Merritt. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Robert Hutrchins of Metter. Daughter and sons in law, Sheila ( Augusta) Kegebein of Metter and Simeon Root. Son Wayne Anthony Jacobs. Four Brothers, Noah Merritt, Johnny Merritt, Jimmy Merritt and Jack Merritt. Sisters, Margie Merritt and Maranda Merritt. Four grandchildren, Ariel Huggins, Augie Kegebein, Shelby Root and Scarlett Root. Special friends Ruth Connor and Mildred Mongin .A Celebratuion of Life Service will be held on Monday at 2pm in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Grey officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until the hour of the service also at the funeral home.
