Blake Michael Bankey

Blake Michael Bankey, 28 of Pueblo, CO formerly of Metter, Ga gained his forever wings Monday March 15, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lynn F. Bankey.

Blake is survived by four loving children, Jeremiah (7), Rosalie (4), Saphira (3), and Augustine (2). His mother, Linda (Al Moore) Bankey of Metter. His father, Michael (Rachele) Sprout of Defiance, OH. Stepfather, James Luman of Upper Sandusky, OH. Sister, Elizabeth (Guillermo) Gonzalez and brother, Tyler Herron all of Metter. Siblings, Thomas, Melanie, and Breanna Sprout all of Defiance, OH. Special brother, DJ Bressler of North Baltimore, OH. Maternal grandfather, Richard Bankey of Metter. Paternal grandparents, Chester (Phillis) Sprout and Judy Kukla all of Toledo, OH. Step grandparents, James (Vickie) Luman of Upper Sandusky, OH. Many Aunts and Uncles including Drew (Ela) Bankey of Blanca, CO, multiple cousins, and beloved friends.

Blake was a 2011 graduate of Metter High School. He was a four-year member of the JROTC program and later enlisted in the U.S. Army in Jacksonville, Fl in June 2012. He was a Chemical OPS SP and SPC in the U.S. Army. He served in South Korea for one year and then was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado. While in the Army Blake attended Chemical Operations Specialist School and Combat Life Savers CRS. He also received Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Serve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Over Seas Service Ribbon. He was Honorably Discharged in 2016. Blake went on to carry out a Government job working at the Pueblo Chemical Depot. He was also a Certified Nurses Aide.

Blake was full of life, always smiling, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was an amazing father to his young children and always put them before anything else. He had a caring soul and would always be looking out for the ones around him. His heart was made of gold, he was so selfless, and the life of the party everywhere he went. He could make anyone smile with his goofy personality that everyone that knew him adored.

Woods Funeral Home will oversee the arrangements. Blakes funeral will be held Wednesday April 7, 2021. The visitation will be from 10 to 12 and the service will start at 2.
