Bobbie Faye Bryant Coursey Simerson passed peacefully at her home on January 18, 2025. She was born on January 17, 1937, to Raymond and Blonnie Bryant of Emanuel County, Georgia. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended Restoration Worship Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband M.D. Coursey, one grandson Adam Bryant Holland, great granddaughters Breanna Belle and Madison Delaney Hendrix and great grandson Harrison Jude Hadden, sister Vertie Mae Daniels and two brothers Ray and J.W. Bryant.
She is survived by her husband Everett Simerson, two sons Michael (Christy) Coursey of Metter and Mark (Scarlett) Coursey of Wrightsville, GA, three daughters Wanda (Danny) Kennedy, Patricia (Cliff) Hendrix and Alanda (Swinton) Sikes all of Metter. She has 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and 10 stepchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Martha Sue (Joe) Bolin of Moultrie, Georgia.
Bobbie grew up living in Emanuel County and Chatham County. She began working a Twin City Mfg. in the mid 1950's and worked there until the doors closed. She enjoyed working in the flower gardens, quilting, crocheting and reading.
Bobbie was also a caretaker most of her adult life, having taken care of her in-laws, her 1st husband as well as helping raise grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could be found helping friends and neighbors as well.
Her wisdom, guidance, advice, laughter and most of her love will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends Thursday 23rd, from 10:30 am until 12pm at Wood Funeral Home, in Metter. A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Tony Brown officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to Action Pack, Candler County or Ogeechee Area Hospice, in Statesboro in memory of Mrs. Bobbie Faye Simerson.
