Mr. Charles Eugene " Gene" Smith, 84, died on July 29,2017 at Candler County Hospital in Metter.

He was a retired Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Octavia Smith of Metter. Step son Tommy Smith.  Step grandsons, Tim and Tommy Smith. Step granddaughter, Vanna Noel Smith. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Aug. 1, 2017 at 11am. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Collins and Rev. John Geerdes

officicating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday July 31, 2017 from 6-8pm. at Wood Funeral Home.
