Curtis Smith

Mr. Curtis Boyd “ Sonny” Smith, 69, of Metter died on Feb. 5, 2019 at Azalea Health and Rehab after a brief illness. He worked at DR Grocery, he previously worked with Richard Gay, Dwayne Gay and Jimmy Lanier in farming. He was the son of the late Curtis and Doris Creech Smith and he was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Connie White of Hardeeville, S.C.; niece, Olivia White and a nephew Joe White. Special friends, Richard and Theresa Gay. His companion horse “Betsy”. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019 at 11am. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Rosemary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10am.until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be, William Creech, Rodney Creech, Benny Mercer, Bobby Edenfield, Anthony Wilkerson, Ken Patel and Dwayne Gay. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Gay and Kermit Lanier. Wood Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
