Donna Jean Saunders Cobb, age 62, of Cobbtown, GA, entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, October 17, 2025.
On September 6,1963, Donna was born to Richard Harvey Saunders and Hermalean DeLoach Saunders. Donna was known for her warm heart and smile, always caring for others, never meeting a stranger, but most of all, for the unconditional love that she had for her family, especially her grandchildren who she lovingly referred to as “her babies”.
She graduated from Statesboro High School in 1982. Then, on March 29,1986, she married her loving husband of 39 years, Travis Lee Cobb. She was the proud Mama of “her girls”, April Lynn Cobb Harshner and Magan Lynn Cobb Recendiz. Her greatest joy in life was being called “Mama” and “Nana”. Her grandchildren, Bailee Lynn Harshner, Aubree Faith Harshner, Stella Grace Recendiz and Thomas Cohen Recendiz, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. There is no doubt that “her babies” had the best Nana anyone could ask for.
Donna had a way of making everyone feel special, and she has touched so many lives through the many years of working with the Candler County School System, and she was currently employed as the Cafeteria Manager with the Boys and Girls Club of Candler County. She had been there since it was opened in September of 2013. She loved all of the children she met over the years, and they loved her just as much.
Donna was a longtime member of Stillmore Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, and she loved her church family.
She is proceeded in death by her infant son, Travis Lamar Cobb, both of her parents, Richard and Hermalean Saunders, her father-in-law, Bernice Cobb, along with many other very special family members and friends. There is no doubt that there was a beautiful reunion going on when she entered the gates of Heaven.
Donna is survived by her husband, Travis Cobb, daughters, April (Jessie) Harshner, Magan (Jose “Jessie”) Recendiz, grandchildren, Bailee and Aubree Harshner, and Stella and Thomas Cohen Recendiz, her sister & best friend, Linda (Michael) Childs, and many very special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Wood Funeral Home, Metter Ga., Wednesday, October 22,2025 from 5pm-7pm.
Funeral Services will be held at Stillmore Missionary Baptist Church, in Stillmore Ga., on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11am. Graveside Service will follow at Cool Spring Cemetery in Aline Ga.
