Mrs. Edna Ashmore Brown, 85, of Statesboro, Georgia entered her eternal home on Thursday October 19th at Browns Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Edna was born in Lake Park, Georgia but lived most of her life in Metter, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Ernest Willard Ashmore and Ruby Boone Ashmore.
Mrs. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Foy Brown, a son Victor Brown, a brother Harold Ashmore and a brother-in-law Rev. Elvis Hester. Surviving is her son Stephen (Kim) Brown of Claxton, granddaughters April Brown of Statesboro, Lynn Mosley of Glennville and Emily Rich of Claxton. Great-granddaughters Abby Kersey (Leah) of Statesboro and Nikki (Dylan) Kerr of Glennville. Great-grandsons Jonathon Neal and Joshua Neal of Metter, Zachery Davis of Statesboro, Logan Hendrix (Gisell) of Glennville. Sisters Bobbie (Wayne) Thornton of Jacksonville Fl., Emily (O.L) Bryson of Cartersville Ga, Rita Hester of Orlando Fl. Great-great granddaughters Willow Neal and Lakelyn Hendrix. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Neal, Logan Hendrix, Zachery Davis, Tyler Carteret, Leah Vangiller and Tommy Hughes.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 with service starting at 11 at Restoration Worship Center on Saturday the 21st with Pastor Tony Brown officiating. Interment will be at Cool Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
