Mrs. Estelle Atkins Bush Collins, 98, of Oak Park Ga., passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, Wednesday morning August 28, 2024, at The Gardens on Gentilly, Senior Living in Statesboro, Ga., with her loving family at her bedside. She was born to Lonzie Burton and Mary Eva Atkins, on June 26, 1926, in Glenwood Ga. She graduated in 1943, from Toombs Central High School. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Lyons Ga.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, James Walter Bush and Solomon Collins, sisters Ernestine Brown Lewis, Sue Young, Audrey Black and Myra Collins. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Danny) Griffin, Ken Bush, Greg (Joan) Bush, Carol (Russell) Powell, Dwayne (Denise) Collins, Cheryl (Rob) Fagnan, sister, Oletha Carnett. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 1 pm., at Wood Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted at 2 pm., officiated by Dr. Mark Sellers, Bro. Glenn Russell, and Grandson Kevin Bush. Pallbearers will be Jeff Mock, Joseph Mock, Austin Mock, Rob Fagnan, Santos Cruz and Chris Fagnan.
