METTER- Mr. Ferrel Phillips 76, of Metter died Thursday evening at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. Mr. Phillips worked many years with the T..J. Morris Company, May and Company as a salesman. He retired as a dispatcher with the Candler County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. Phillips was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Aline Ga., but attended Anchor Worship Center in Metter for the last eleven years. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #1089 in Statesboro for the past nine years.
Mr Phillips is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mrs. Hazel Daniels Phillips, a daughter Laura (Ray) Sollie of Evans Ga; a son Randy Phillips of Metter; four granddaughters Erica O'Brien, Crystal Jones, Regan Phillips and Taylor Sollie. Also surviving Mr. Phillips are four great granddaughters, one great grandson, a sister-in-law Frances Wilkes and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Phillips was preceeded in death by his parents Rufus and Vertia McDilda Phillips; three brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Wallace, Larry Cardell, Kieth Cartee, Ray Goodman, Ronnie Flynt, Jerald Daughtry. Members of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1089 will serve as honary pallbearers.
Visitation for Mr. Phillips will be held on Monday June 22, 2015 at The Anchor Worsip Center from 9 am until the funeral hour. The funeral will be conducted at 11 am at the church. Mr Terry Manuel will provide the Euolgy and Rev. Jesse Goodman will preside over the service.
