Mrs. Geneva Brown Sikes passed away Tuesday, December 27th, 2022, at East Georgia
Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Sikes, known as “Ms. Jenny”
to her friends and neighbors, was born in Lexington, South Carolina on October 22nd.
1937 to Lila Mae and James Edward Brown. She lived most of her life in Georgia where she met and married the love of her life, Dire C. Sikes (Bunky). She was a wife and homemaker who was well known for being a wonderful cook and talented
seamstress. Her family was her pride and Joy. She enjoyed spending time with them
and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Lila Brown; her husband, Dire C. Sikes (Bunky); a daughter, Kathy Hendrix; a son, Robert D. Sikes; a brother Frank Brown and a sister, Earline Berry.
She is survived by a daughter Debbie Lanier (Randy); a son Burnie Sikes; grandchildren Charles Rushing, Katie VanZwoll and Heather Caveny; a sister Betty Monroe (Bernice) and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11am. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Jessie Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until the hour of the service. Burial to follow in Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown. Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
