Grayson Clark Douglas

Mr. Grayson Clark Douglas, 92, of Metter died on Thursday June 28, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. Mr. Douglas was Citizen of the Year, a member of the Honor Flight, on the board of Candler County Voter Registrar for 40 years, a Mason for 60 years and a member of Metter First Baptist Church for 67 year and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII. He retired from EMC after 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Algerean Orin and Lottie Moore Douglas, brothers, Lynwood Douglas, Jake Douglas and Arlis Douglas.

Sisters Myrtle Jones and Marjorie Randall Cook. He is survived by his wife Jean Grubbs Douglas of Metter. A son, Gary Clark ( Cherry) Douglas of Richmond Hill. Daughter Gail Douglas Charles of Metter. Grandchildren, Larry ( Melanie) Charles, Wesley ( Allison) Charles, Matthew ( Kortney) Douglas and Kristin Douglas. Great grandchildren, Ashton Charles, Brendon Charles, Addilyn Charles,

Rebekah Charles, Hannah Charles, Grayson Charles and Abigail Douglas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 30,2018 at 2:pm.. at Metter First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Osborne officiating.The family will receive friends from 1pm. until the hour of the service. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Charles, Wesley Charles, Matthew Douglas, Ken Bryant, David Rhoney and Wayne Collins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church and the Antioch Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sunshine House, P.O. Box 617, Swainsboro, GA. 30401 or Metter First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 34 Metter, GA. 30439. Wood Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
