HERMAN L LEE SR

Metter – Mr. Herman Lester Lee Sr. 89 died on Saturday June 04, 2016 at Candler County Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Hardeman Lee.

Mr. Lee was a US Navy veteran or World War II; a Navy Sea Bee having served in the Pacific Theater.

He also was in the paper industry in the Southeastern US and Chile for 19 years, and retired to Metter in 1989. Upon his retirement Mr. Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and raising cows. His greatest joy came from taking care of his family.

He is survived by sons, Lester Lee Jr., ( Maria) of Savannah; Danny Lee (Cindy), of Metter, daughters Della and Denise Lee of Metter. A sister Vivian Lee of Duluth. He is also, survived by grand children Daniela (Mike) Bringman Savannah, Christine ( Daniel) Wood, Chicago, Andrea (John) Harper, Savannah, Herman Lester Lee III and Victoria Lee, Savannah. Also surviving Mr Lee are three great grandsons Max and Issac Bringman and Cohen Lee Harper.

Honorary pallbearers will be James McNeely, Joey Webb, Joey Mixon and Jackie Wallace.

A memorial service will be held at Wood Funeral Home at 11 am on Wednesday June 08, 2106, family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Elder Mike Newman will officiate.In lieu of flowers the family request you make remberences to the charity of your choice.
