We sadly announce that Harold G. Googe, Jr., age 75, passed away at home on July 29, 2022. He was in the care of Community Hospice of Vidalia, Georgia, and surrounded by the love of those who cherished him. Junior, as he was called, was born on September 25, 1946, in Metter, Georgia. He was a long-time truck driver, who loved his family, friends, animals, and flowers. He was a hard worker, passionate about his career, but he always was there when needed.
Junior is survived by Juanita Googe of Lyons, his loving wife of 58 years, and their children Linda Fix (Mike) of Richmond Hill, Diane Sparks (Scott) of Metter, Andy Googe (Traci) of Vidalia, Michael Googe (Dana) of Metter, and Beth Googe of Lyons; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley A. Thompson of Metter and Wanda Kay Clifton of Metter; seven brothers, Charles E. Googe of Valdosta, Roger Googe (Barbara) of Metter, Jimmy R. Googe (Hettie) of Blue Ridge, David E. Googe (Demaris) of Metter, James Googe of Metter, Tommy Googe of Guyton, and Tony Googe (Julie) of Griffin; and many nieces and nephews.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Googe, Sr., and Dorothy Googe, and by his son, Kenneth Googe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Anchor Worship Center from 5-7. A funeral service in honor of Junior will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Anchor Worship Center at 11:00 a.m.
