On January 2, 2021, Ivey Gordon Goodman Sr, age 80, went home to be with the Lord. Mr. Goodman was born in Register, Georgia on October 12, 1940, and lived most of his life in Metter. He was a member of Mt. Shady Baptist Church in Swainsboro, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He retired from Brooks Instrument and spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family and collecting model trains and cars.
Mr. Goodman was proceeded in death by his parents, John Willie and Essie Mae Goodman, and one older brother, Billy Franklin Goodman. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie Fulmer Goodman, three children, Ivey G. (Pam) Goodman, Jr., Richard (Robin) Goodman, and Janice (Andy) Sutton, six grandchildren, Brianna Goodman, Samantha Goodman, Logan Goodman, Luke Goodman, Tony Sutton, and Anna Marie Sutton. Brothers and sisters, John Goodman, Louie Goodman, Ray (Minnie) Goodman, Clevie (Tammy) Goodman , Kay Alderman, Eileen (Frank) Smith, many loved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan.5, 2021 at 1pm. at Mt. Shady Baptist Church.The family will receive friends from 11am. until the hour of the service. Burial in the church cemetery.
