Jacqueline Mathis

Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Bland Mathis, 84 of Metter died on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.. She was preceded in death by sons, Terry Baker, Keith Baker and John Mathis. A daughter, Erika Amanda Mathis and her parents  Foy and Winnie Gibbs Bland. A son in law, David Brooks and a brother in law Alvin Merritt. She is survived by her husband, John Edward Mathis. Daughters, Belinda ( Hank) Williams, Kathy Baker, Kim (Tom) Margavich and Angela Hernandez. Son Steve Baker .Sisters Grace Merritt and Dianne ( Dorsey) Wiard. Twenty seven grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Jan. 25, 2020 at 1pm. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Guido officiating. Visitation will be on Friday Jan. 24, 2020 from 6-8pm also at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Monday Jan.27, 2020 at 1pm. at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ahoskie, N.C. Rememberances may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donehoo Ave. Statesboro, GA. 30458 Wood Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
