Mr. Julian Michael “Mikey” Jackson, 64 of Metter, slipped peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, on April 10, 2022. Mikey was born on January 25, 1958, to Julian E. “Nig” and Betty Jean Edenfield Jackson in Savannah, Georgia. Mikey dearly loved his family and in his spare time, loved to hunt, fish and ride the dirt roads in the big city of Aline. Mikey was a carpenter by trade, Mikey said he wanted to be a carpenter, because that was what Jesus did, he became a Master at his trade.
Mikey was preceded in death by his father “Nig” Jackson and a sister Regina Jackson Baker. Also, preceding Mikey are his grandparents, Mitchell and Annie Laurie Edenfield and Carrie Jackson.
Mikey is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Edenfield Jackson, a brother Ricky Jackson and a sister Cookie Julia (Dave) Herrmann. Also surviving Mikey are numerous nieces and nephews. Wyatt Tyler loved to help take care of Mikey by feeding him during his illness. Riley and Mikey shared a special bond, he taught her hand signals. Riley was quite efficient at feeding Mikey.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 pm on Tuesday April 12, 2022, at Wood funeral Home, with Rev. Lowell Graham officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ethan Jackson, Gary Blackburn, Chris Tyler, Boggie Morgan, Noah Miller and Johnny Miller.
