June (McCullough) Holloway

June Marie Holloway “Mema”, 67, passed away May 21, 2025, surrounded by her family after an extended illness. June was born September 19, 1957. She was a lifelong resident of Candler County.

She married Eddie Lamar Holloway and spent 50 wonderful years together. June was a devoted wife, mother, Mema, daughter in law, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a proud homemaker and spent her time taking care of everyone around her. She loved cooking for family and teaching her children and nieces her skills in the kitchen. She housed many homeless pets over the years and gave them a loving home. She went to meet her Heavenly Father and be reunited with her mother Minnie Lee McCullough, her father Ray D. McCullough, and brother Bobby Ray McCullough.

She leaves behind her husband Eddie Lamar Holloway, daughters Amy Holloway and Jessica Holloway (Amber), one son Eddie Holloway Jr. (Rachael), her grandchildren (Shelby, Gage, Colt, Ethan, and Emileigh). Also mourning her loss are her mother-in-law Gertrude Holloway, her sisters Rosa McCullough and Anne Williams (James) along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning May 24, 2025, from 10 am until the service hour 12 pm. June will be laid to rest Saturday May 24, 2025, at Lake Church Cemetery in Metter, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Wood Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
