Mr. Larry Heard was born on September 2, 1967 in Jenkins County Georgia to the late Jacob and Eddie Mae Scott Heard and was the sixth of seven siblings. After a short illness Larry peacefully entered into eternal sleep at Pleasant View Nursing Facility in Metter, Ga on Sunday February 17, 2019. He was a resident of Millen, Ga and was loved by all who knew him. At an early age he joined Lane Grove Baptist Church then as an adult became a member of Williams Grove Church of God in Christ.
Larry loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, singing, shopping, gardening, and was also an excellent cook. He enjoyed life to its fullest, always had a smile on his face, and
loved to laugh. Larry was known for dressing well and for always trying to correct those who incorrect grammar. When in shock or disbelief his favorite saying was, “Isn’t that something!”
Larry was a 1986 graduate of Jenkins County High School in Millen, Ga. He decided to further his education at Swainsboro Technical Institution where he pursued a degree in Computer Technology. After obtaining his degree Larry explored various States in route for a place to reside in; however, he ultimately chose to live in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. After settling in Ft. Lauderdale Larry quickly found full time employment and had no problem meeting new people. He worked as a Computer Technician by day and as a Cab Driver part time at night. Deeply inside, Larry always had a passion for cooking and wanted to make his lifelong desire become a reality. As a result of his love for cooking Larry went on to obtain a degree in Culinary Arts and was employed by some of the finest restaurants in South Florida. After residing in Ft. Lauderdale for several years he accepted another job offer in the computer department which lead him to move to Richmond, Virginia for several years. In 2012 after being away from family and friends for several years Larry decided it was time to move back home to Millen to be near his loved ones. While at home, Larry continued working in various areas and enjoyed his latter years spending time with family and friends.
