Morris Scott Obituary

Mr. Morris Edward “Ed” Scott born June 23, 1951, in Emanuel County. Ed peacefully passed away September 17, 2025, in Metter, GA, his hometown of many years. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ed enjoyed reading the newspaper each day. You could frequently find him in a booth at Parker’s during the early mornings. He also enjoyed growing big gardens and farming. He had a huge passion for growing things. Every Easter Ed enjoyed having his grandchildren over to dye eggs and have a family Easter egg hunt. He also loved cooking for friends and family. Ed often would have fish fries and cook BBQ. He ran a small BBQ pit in Ollifftown for several years on the weekends.

He was a soft-spoken man who easily made friends wherever he went. Many of his friends were made during the years he worked at Colley Tractor as a tractor mechanic. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Scott, and significant other Mary Barton (mother of his children). He is survived by two sons. Bruce (Diane) Scott of Metter and Billy (Dori) Daniels of Metter as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
