Russell S. (Steve) Powell

Mr. Russell S. (Steve) Powell, 74, of Lyons, passed away peacefully June 15, 2025, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, Ga. Russell worked for Piggly Wiggly Southern, in the warehouse, until they closed. Afterwards, he went to work for and retired from Wal-Mart Distribution in Statesboro. Russell was born on June 02, 1951, in Augusta Ga., to Mr. Baxley and Mrs. Douglas (Doug) Eudora Spencer Powell.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of over fifty years Mrs. Carolyn Collins Powell and a precious sister Dianne Rickerson. He is preceded in death by a brother, Danny Powell, and two sister's Sharon Shaffer and Twila Eckert.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Lyons Ga., at 10 am.
