Ruth G. Rountree

Mrs. Ruth Geraldine McCarty Rountree of Metter died on Wednesday, Feb. 17.2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents Silas and Fannie Dixon McCarty. Daughter, Johnnie Darlene Evers Cook and a son, John Douglas Evers Jr.

She was a retired LPN with the American Red Cross. She is survived by daughters, Wilma ( Bob) Hutchins of Metter, Marie ( Lynn) Cribbs of Collins and Jo Lloyd of Virginia. Brother Vernon McCarty of Tenn. Sister, Gertrud McDonald of Cumming, GA. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 1,2021 at 2pm. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1pm. until the hour of the service.
